Hi there! I’m Jose Luis, and I started this blog as a way to share my passion for traveling the world. My goal is to take you on a journey to extraordinary and lesser-known destinations, offering glimpses of the wonderful countries I’ve had the privilege to explore.

Here at Bretin’s World, we’re incredibly excited to bring you firsthand experiences from our travels and showcase these remarkable destinations. We invite you to join us on an adventure of discovery and wanderlust. Get ready to break free from the ordinary and be inspired to see the world through a fresh lens!

This blog/site began with a few travels to countries such as the U.S., Iceland, India, Vietnam, and Jordan, although updates weren’t very consistent. However, in 2022, after more than a year of travelling extensively around the world, we decided to revamp the site and start sharing stories about new off-the-beaten-track destinations.

About the Author: I left my career as a TV Assistant Director and Video Editor at a national TV channel in Spain to begin a new chapter in London. After 10 years, I ended up working as a Product Manager at one of the largest travel content aggregator companies in the UK. In 2022, driven by my passion for travel, I took a sabbatical to follow my dreams. During that year, I travelled to over 40 countries and led several expeditions as a Tour Leader Coordinator. From venturing into Afghanistan and Syria to discovering the beauty of Mali, Burkina Faso, Iraq, and many other challenging destinations. After a one-year career break traveling the world, I shifted my focus to a more customer-oriented side of travel. Now, I design unique travel experiences, creating itineraries for remote destinations and working with local providers to manage logistics and offer culturally immersive adventures.

How I write
I share first-hand travel stories with practical tips you can use. When I include facts (like volcano heights, opening times, or visa rules), I add a trusted source.

Fact-checking & sources

  • I verify key details with official or well-known sources.
  • If something is uncertain or can change fast (prices, schedules), I say so.

Independence & disclosures

  • My opinions are my own.
  • If a trip, stay, or activity was discounted or sponsored, I will tell you clearly.
  • Some links may be affiliate links. If you use them, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.

Photos & edits

  • The photos are mine unless I say otherwise.
  • I do basic edits (crop, exposure, color). If I ever use AI-generated images or heavy edits, I will label them.

Safety & responsibility

  • I never encourage unsafe or illegal travel.
  • Always double-check local rules, permits, and conditions before your trip.

Corrections & updates
If you spot a factual error, please message me via the contact form. I aim to review within 7 days and:

  • fix the error;
  • add a short “Updated on [date]” note for important corrections.
I also revisit older guides when big changes happen (transport, visas, safety).
